Sympathy 04:28
I’ll watch for a while ‘Till a finger bleeds 'Till I get a look Give me the sympathy I need I’ll crawl for a while Under hairpins Under your skin Give me the sympathy I need

Go To Hell 03:46
You broke my nature, you do so much harm In loving you I set myself on fire to keep warm You make a fist when you kiss and you move me with it How does it feel to hold something so frozen? Because at this point, I don’t mind And at this point It’s your crime and my damnation I would say ‘go to hell’ but I don’t really want to see you again It’s your crime and my damnation I would say ‘go to hell’ but I don’t really want to see you again I felt you slipping under my skin I tried to hold on but you cut your way in Why were you so intent on dragging me down? To a place where I’m blind and I’m broken and I can’t make a sound Because at this point, I don’t mind And at this point It’s your crime and my damnation I would say ‘go to hell’ but I don’t really want to see you again It’s your crime and my damnation I would say ‘go to hell’ but I don’t really want to see you again

New Lives 03:17
We always thought we knew the answers Delivered down by helping hands The words we heard were never clearer There's much we'd understand There's much we'd understand The rope we tied around our old lives Was cut in half by sharpened wit To all we've known we've said our goodbyes So our new lives would begin So our new lives would begin Stop, no need to list your reasons Stop, no need to speak your peace All that you claim is all but ricocheted Off of every wall we’ve made Yet here I am, you’ve made me stay but for how long? You say its time to reconsider To turn me round from what I knew But is that path for the better? Is this worth living through? Is this worth living through?

Life on TV 03:02
I’ve been waiting in a window for a good girl to take me home I’ve been waiting on a pedestal While they tell me just how good it’ll be I’ll be perfect for my love And she’ll be perfect for me Take my eyes, take my mind Wear my skin and be mine Fake my lies, Take some time Now you win now you die Take my eyes, take my mind Wear my skin and be mine Fake my lies, Take some time Now you win now you die Fairytales and daydreaming Of a life just like you see on TV (on TV) Glazed over, skin colder I guess this is what it means to me just to be. Take my eyes, take my mind Wear my skin and be mine Fake my lies, Take some time Now you win now you die Take my eyes, take my mind Wear my skin and be mine Fake my lies, Take some time Now you win now you die

about

A darkly ambient exploration of different kinds of dysfunctional (and yet, growth-inspiring) relationships, Why Try?'s first EP holds difficult emotions in a tender grasp and leans towards hopefulness and beauty, while acknowledging that we all might lose ourselves a bit in the search for a sense of identity.
